The
Chittamani Mahayana Buddhist Meditation Centre is located in Ottawa,
Canada and is one of the Gaden
for the West Centres. The Venerable
Zasep Tulku Rinpoche is the Spiritual Director of Gaden for
the West.
The Resident Lama at the Chittamani Mahayana
Buddhist Meditation Centre is Dr.Bob
Kapitany. Meditation classes are given twice weekly at the Centre.
Tsong Khapa's Lam Rim - Graded Path to
Enlightenment - and Vipassana, or Insight Meditation, are taught.
Vajrayana practices (and especially the healing tantras) are also
taught.
Although the Chittamani Centre is located
in Ottawa, it responds quickly like the Buddha Chittamani
Tara to the needs of practitioners and to all sentient beings
who are suffering. Students of this centre are spread across North
America and meet together at least twice a year for meditation.
Dr. Bob Kapitany also holds weekend teaching retreats for his students
in Flagstaff, Arizona and Grand Marais, Minnesota throughout the
year.
